Snow and Ice in Brooklyn

Retired Brooklyn man was injured when he slipped and fell on an accumulation of snow and ice while walking through a city park. The city had opened the parks walkways to the public, but had carelessly failed shovel, salt or sand any of the walkways which had been covered with snow for more than a week after a snowstorm. The plaintiff sustained a fractured hip and fractured elbow, both of which required extensive surgery.
